I am delighted and honoured to be the new Headteacher at Hawthorn Community Primary School. Our school sits in the very heart of our community and although it has 126 years of heritage, we have our eyes very firmly fixed on the future. Broughton Primary School is a one form entry primary with about 200 pupils which is situated in the small village of Broughton close to the historic market town of Kettering. The School is situated on the edge of the village and is surrounded on three sides by fields and open views of the the beautiful Northamptonshire countryside.

Geddington is a one-form entry school which means that we have a single class for each of the seven year groups; there are just under 200 children in the school altogether. We serve the villages of Geddington, Newton and Little Oakley although a third of our children come from Kettering and Corby. The school has existed in one form or another for over
Pupils really enjoy school and are fired with enthusiasm for learning because of excellent teaching in all parts of the school. Entrants had to create a track using electronic music production software (GarageBand or WalkBand) in order to be in with a chance of winning. The winner was Jennifer in Year 3, who created a fantastic EDM track with a great bass drop! Our school opened in 2004 to serve the new Northamptonshire village of Mawsley.

Behaviour and relationships are excellent because the distinctive Christian values teach the pupils to make good choices. Teachers know their pupils well and plan learning that meets the needs of different groups of pupils accurately. Pupils demonstrate good attitudes to learning and this can be seen in the well-presented work in their books.
