Geddington is a one-form entry school which means that we have a single class for each of the seven year groups; there are just under 200 children in the school altogether. We serve the villages of Geddington, Newton and Little Oakley although a third of our children come from Kettering and Corby. The school has existed in one form or another for over 220 years and we are proud to be adding to that legacy.
We have strong links to our local community and particularly with St Mary Magdalene Church. Jesus said, "I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full". As a church school, we believe that means recognising that each child is unique in the gifts and talents that they have been given and giving them every opportunity to use and develop these to the full.

Services
Geddington Church of England Primary School is set in a rural situation at the heart of this historical village. The school was established in 1849, but has evolved over the years with major extensions in 1986 and 2012. Geddington is a voluntary controlled school which means that it is a church school but remains under the control of the Local Authority.
Parents are asked to respect these times and see that their children arrive and leave punctually. Children arriving late to school must come in through the front door and be signed in at the school office. So that we can maintain security during the lunch hour, children going home for lunch will leave the building from the main entrance.
Parents are welcome to stay with their child if they feel necessary to help their child settle. For the first three weeks in September, children attend school on a part time basis to build their confidence and to enable the children to make a successful start to their full time education. For the third week the children all attend the morning session and then go home after lunch.
The whole ethos of our school is founded upon mutual confidence and co-operation between home and school. We actively encourage a close partnership between home and school. For those parents who have the time there are many opportunities to help in our classes. Regular newsletters keep parents informed of school activities.
At Geddington C of E Primary School we are proud of the history of success at our school, its Christian foundation and its position at the heart of our community. Our aim is to add to that legacy, preparing our children to have a full and active role in our modern, dynamic and diverse society. As a church school we believe in serving all parts of our community and warmly welcome children of all faiths and of none.
