Private Pilates sessions can be helpful for exercise based rehabilitation of physical issues, for those wanting to gain some Pilates experience before they come into a class, or simply for a more personal Pilates experience. Mat classes are taught in small groups, with a maximum of 12 participants.
All exercises are layered in a progressive way so that you can work at your own level. Should any of the exercises be contraindicated for your physical issues you will always be advised of an alternative safe move. Small equipment such as therabands, soft balls and pilates rings are regularly used in class.

Services
There are several different reasons why people choose private Pilates over group mat classes. Some people will be in need of physical rehabilitation for a specific problem, and whilst classes can cater for different physical conditions, the focus of the class will be on the general population rather than for their specific needs.
Invented by the German born Joseph Pilates in the first half of the 20th Century, Pilates is an exercise method that can benefit us all, it can be practiced as a standalone form of exercise or to complement other physical activities.
Pilates brings with it many benefits, it lengthens and strengthens your muscles and by doing so can help improve your posture, it works on balance and body awareness, and it releases tension and stress from overused muscles. It keeps your joints mobile and increases flexibility. Additionally to all this it's a period of concentration and relaxation allowing you to temporarily leave the rest of the world behind.

Private Sessions are held at our private Reformer Room, Century Mill, Worrall Street, Congleton. Classes are held at either the Wellspring Methodist Church or The Congleton Iyengar Yoga centre. Whilst we understand that life can get in the way of bookings, and unforeseen things do occur, we would appreciate at least 24hrs notice for cancellation of private bookings.

A long term ankle injury was really proving debilitating. I had tried rest, anti inflammatories, physio. I’d seen a podiatrist and I even tried a course of extracorporeal shock wave therapy. Nothing worked. At its worst, I couldn’t even walk up a gentle incline without pain.
My husband had been having one to one with Sarah due to an on going… back problem. I decided to give Pilates a go.
After just a few weeks, I noticed a difference. Sarah combined ankle strengthening with complete body and core strengthening. She makes the sessions fun and sociable, and not at all boring! This

Sarah is a great instructor, her classes are really inclusive and friendly. Sarah gives clear instructions and demonstrations so it's easy to follow and she always explains the progressions or alternatives so you can work at the level that suits you and is tailored around any ailments. I originally started Pilates to address a shoulder problem (which is now much improved) but have continued because it has really improved my posture, flexibility and strengthened my core - who doesn't want a flatter stomach and a firmer derrière!!

Had my first 1 to 1 session with Sarah today as I've suffered with a bad back for many years. What a fantastic difference it has made after just this 1 session. Sarah is extremely knowledgeable and quickly identified what my issues might be. Will definitely be booking another session. Thank you Sarah

I have taken Sarah's Pilates classes since she started almost 3 years ago, going twice a week as find it very beneficial and fun ! Has really helped my general fitness, core strength and pelvic floor, as well as improving my posture and flexibility, after too many years slouched over a desk / computer. Sarah is very welcoming, indicating what each move does with different levels to follow according to your ability and provides individual guidance as required. Thoroughly recommended !

I have been doing the Pilates class for about a year and a half now and still can’t believe what a total body workout it is! The hour class really flies by and Sarah makes it fun too. I have Plantar Fasciitis and Pilates has had a very positive effect on my foot, Sarah is always mindful and checks that I am OK with the exercise I am doing and will give alternatives if needed. I can’t recommend the class enough.
