I was first introduced to Pilates in 2003 as a way of helping my lower back problems. At the time I was a competitive ice dancer and was amazed with not only how much it helped me manage and control my lower back but how much stronger I was as a performer.
I then used it as a form of conditioning right through my time competing and medalling for Team GB internationally to life as a professional performer in shows such as 'Dancing on Ice' in Europe.I then decided to transition career to helping other athletes and completed my Pilates Matwork Teacher Training through APPI and my degree in Sport Rehabilitation as well as my post grad in Strength and Conditioning.

Our teachers are specifically selected because of their knowledge, experience and shared passion for enhancing your life with Pilates. Pilates to us is prescriptive to each client depending upon their needs. When you join our studio you aren't joining an ordinary Pilates class, you are starting your journey to better health and movement.
Clinic Equilibrium is a boutique Pilates studio based in Bowdon, Cheshire which offers small group classes and private sessions with highly trained and experienced teachers. We pride ourselves in delivering the best in personal and quality service. All our clients start their journey with us by an individual assessment where we get to create a personalised plan for them.
This is where your class journey with us begins. In this private session we get to know you and your goals, assess your posture and movements to identify areas of focus and then take you through your foundation principles of Pilates. We have a range of small and personal mat classes from beginner to advanced, pregnancy and postnatal.

9 weeks ago, I first went to meet Lindsey to have an assessment on my back and try my first Pilates session. As I bloke, I always thought that Pilates was not really a “man thing” to do but having exhausted everything else to ease my sciatica I thought “why not give it a try?”
I joined the mat class with Jenny, as well as having 1-2-1s with Lindsey, and the first week I struggled to properly engage my core and glutes and I had no idea where was pelvic floor was, let alone how to activate it. I was constantly having to put my hand down to stop myself from falling over.

I was very sceptical about Pilates, as I always thought it was for women. I normally always go to the gym to do weights training, I never really felt that I would see the benefits of Pilates training, however since joining Clinic equilibrium I have discovered a whole new understanding about my body. As a professional singer this has been transformational in the way that I now sing due to my body feeling lengthened and stretched rather than tight and stiff from weights training. The way in which my alignment and posture has changed has allowed for my voice to flourish. I am also a high level amateur

I had no idea that Pilates would bring such amazingness into life! I love the teachers, the variety of exercises, the different levels available from beginner to advance. I love how I feel afterwards. My body is so much stronger, supple, flexible and without pain since I started at Equilibrium. I also feel and look slimmer and firmer and understand so much more about my body. Not only this but emotionally its a really healthy place - if I ever arrive feeling stressed with the day to day stuff that takes its toll, I always leave with this gone and feeling bright and cheery! I am SO GRATEFUL to Lindsey

I'm already feeling the benefits of my Pilates sessions. I feel 2 inches taller! I've been amazed at how personalised the tuition is. It's a lovely intimate studio that's brilliantly equipped. Everybody has been very patient and they're all obviously very experienced. As a rather nervous newbie to Pilates I've been made to feel very welcome and I'm progressing at a pace that really suits me. If you're looking to improve your general wellbeing and overall strength and flexibility then I'd recommend Pilates in general. I'd definitely recommend giving Equilibrium a go as they're really good as assessing

Having not tried Pilates before and thinking it was only for flexible people or for women, I was sceptical when I first came along. I couldn’t have been more wrong. I was suffering from low back pain which had been bothering me on and off for a number of months and was preventing me from going on my bike or for a run (which was frustrating having been working toward a cycle challenge of 950 miles) within 2 sessions I was pain free. The exercises were tough and challenging in a strengthening way and not at all what I had thought prior to coming. The exercises I was shown really do work and if

Fantastic studio with lovely people! We've been going here for a year now which is the longest ever for me! That's testament to the team there. The classes aren't too large so you get good one-on-one attention, and they are mixed up each week so you don't get too used to the routines. I could feel the difference after a few months and after 12 I feel so much stronger and in better shape that ever before.
