I am a member of the Charted Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity (CIMSPA). This ensures adherence to their codes of ethical conduct, health and safety, client confidentiality, continuous personal development, and having comprehensive insurance cover. Here are my qualifications, with a brief description of how they're relevant to getting you results.
This extended introductory session is an opportunity to chat about your exercise background, clarify any existing injuries or movement issues you might have, and for you to try out a variety of foundational exercises linked to your goals. Please note that it is standard practice to complete a short Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire beforehand.
Gawain is skilled at motivating and gently encouraging without allowing you to be easy on yourself. The sessions are short but challenging. For me, the exercises have quickly brought benefits such as increased strength and muscle tone, improved posture, flexibility and balance. Everyday tasks are feeling easier and life doesn't seem quite so exhausting!
We strongly advocate plenty of daily movement for overall health. Activities such as brisk walking, recreational sports, gardening, and even housework are good for you! Science now realises that keeping the body moving at a low intensity has far more benefits to health than previously assumed. It's the majority of time spent inactive that is the problem for most people.

I've been to Gawain for a few sessions and can tell you he really knows his stuff. Breaking you with tough cardio is not what he's about. Being intelligent about how to use technique and body type to get the most out of exercises is a much better way to exercise and this is what Gawain offers. Strength, conditioning and fitness is my goal and I'm happy to say that training with Gawain really delivers.

I’ve been training with Gawain for about a month after being recommended by family members, and although I’d never tried resistance training before, I’m 100% persuaded by his methods. The sessions go by very quickly because each one is varied and challenging, and they completely outshine the classic cardio training I’d done in the past. Gawain encourages you to concentrate on slow, intense movements – correct posture and form are a priority – and I’ve got measurably stronger and fitter.

I have been training with Gawain once a week for about 6 months now and I love it! The sessions are short enough to stay motivated throughout, but intense enough to feel like you’ve really worked hard. The exercises are slow and controlled movements which are really effective – I have definitely gained strength, stamina and muscle tone since beginning my workouts and it’s a great compliment to my yoga practice and has helped me in my strength postures there.

It is without doubt the best work out sessions I have ever been involved in. Now in my 30’s, I can say I have never felt as strong as I do now. Work-outs in the past have had quick surface results, but with this, I can feel myself changing internally, building up, getting properly stronger. There is definite long term body benefits to this workout. Gawain has the perfect personality to push you further every-time. I would thoroughly recommend training with Gawain to everyone.

I struggled with the gym for about 5 years without seeing any real progress. I've been seeing Gawain for about 3-4 months - I've lost 2 and a half stone and have put on a fair amount of muscle.
The work outs are great, individually tailored to suit your body type.
But it's more than just a gym and personal training he offers, he's more like a life coach, with advice on everything from nutrition to sleep cycles.
I would strongly recommend to anyone, he's friendly, encouraging and a good laugh too.

Gawain is an excellent coach and puts overall well being ahead of fitness goals.He and Kim are very friendly and want to move you to a place where you will be the healthiest you can be but without it being a fad you will give up on over time. They provide very tailored help and support and if you try them you will not be disappointed. Their help is significantly better than signing up for a gym or other traditional ways of getting fit and healthy.

Having blasted through my 30's with a high pressure desk job on a regular diet of beer and curry, there was no surprise that by 40, I had high blood pressure and was on the edge of becoming diabetic! Moving into my 40s with two small children and a desk based job has been hard on my body, but Gawain's tailored fitness regime and nutritional advice has helped me no end. I saw a real difference almost immediately.
