Angel Inn
Situated on the edge of rolling countryside just outside Bournemouth and close to the historic market town of Wimborne, the Angel is the perfect example of a traditional country pub at the heart of its local community. The site has been an Inn since the 1700's when it was run by a monk and nuns for weary travellers and the pub joined the Hall & Woodhouse family in 1935, being extended to include the adjoining thatched cottage in 2003.

With a beautiful garden and children's play area outside, roaring log fires and oak beams inside and regular events, the Angel really is a great place to relax and unwind all year round. Services
We've been working hard over the past few months to make sure all of our delicious food dishes are just that little bit better. As well as our usual favourites like Steak & Tangle Foot Pie, Hand-Battered Fish & Chips and our famous H&W Burger, we've also got a range of tasty sandwiches and of course our delicious Sunday Roasts, which we think are the best (apart from Mum's!).
We've done our research and scoured the world to find the best beer and wine selection. We've got Badger beers, brewed right in the heart of the Dorset countryside, alongside quality lagers and wines from all over the world. Not to mention, we've got all the best spirits and soft drinks so you're guaranteed to find something to suit all tastes.
One of the delights of the perfect English Country pub is that it is at the heart of it's community a place where people can come together. That's why we believe it's so important for us to give something back to our local community. Below are just a couple of things we do to help out in some small way.
Follow the A31 towards Ferndown and continue on to the A348 Ringwood Road. You will pass a Citroen car dealership on your left, at the next set of traffic lights turn left onto Casterbridge Road, the entrance to the car park is on the right after roughly 60m. Join Ringwood Road, once on this road follow signs towards the A348 (Southampton & Ringwood) and then follow signs towards Ferndown and/or Longham.

Looks nice and the food is nice however the service and wait time is astonishingly awful, first its a 20min wait just for drinks( simple drinks from bottles not cocktails or drinks that require mixing) then 15mins for starters, and a solid 45mins for main meals, then 25 for desert. Horrible service. And the bathrooms are disgusting and filthy and hidden away. Would not go again and if possible i would give a lower rating.

Charming pub, lovely atmosphere and really friendly staff, also towards my 16month old which was nice as they made us feel very welcome. food was really tasty BUT the only one thing I would say is that for the money you spend compared to the amount of food you get was a bit off, especially for the kids meals. I think it was something like £7.50 for two chicken goujons and some chips with small amount of peas, a portion of chips were quite small for the price too I think but that's just personal opinion. I would definitely go again but as a treat.

Lovely looking pub, gorgeous decor inside.
Such a shame that the food was such a disappointment, cold & tasteless! Only 4 Sunday roasts left, which we ordered. When we requested more gravy we were told it was now all gone! One meal was forgotten which I had to ask 4 times for! In fairness our waitress was very helpful (tall girl with dark hair) however all the other staff were rude, particularly a blonde girl that seated us to our table. Soft drinks are also very over priced! To think that our bill came to over £200, we weren’t given any respect! Would not recommend at all!

Honestly blown away by the lovely staff, fantastic service and food. As a group of vegetarians and vegans we were really pleased with our options. The children's vegan mezze was beautiful and perfect for a toddler who likes to graze! Well worth a visit!

Lovely setting. Really nice pub with great outside space, including well arranged kids areas. Nice staff but not cheap. However extensive range of beers, lagers, ciders and spirits. Very good parking. Didn't eat but food looks great.

Nice pub, with excellent outside seating area and garden. Beers were nice, although a bit pricey. For those in my group of six that ate; they liked the food.
Be warned though; CARD payment only which left one of our group unable to buy anything because he only had cash on him (until he was loaned a spare credit card).

Tasty food. But the service is terrible. Haven't cleared our table after starters, but already brought our main meals. With regards to the kids meal, we had only 2 chicken goujons with chips on the plate for £7.50 which in my view is not only ridiculously overpriced but also how could you serve peppery/spicy goujons for a child! So for £7.50 my child had only handful of chips. When I was back home checked their menu online and seen on kids menu, that kids meal supposed to come with free ice cream which was never offered. Most disappointing!!

A lovely place, very cozy and we'll decorated, ordered a cider and some sweet potato fries and they where delicious. I have been here a couple times and will continue to come back when I'm in the area. There is large parking space for Cars and many tables inside to accommodate everyone. Drink choices are vast with such a variety to pick from. Food options are great but the drinks here is what stands out.

Went initially with family onweekday and then on my own on a Sunday afternoon for their lunchtime Sunday roast. Being a vegetarian with lactose intolerance there were little choice. Value for money- found it pricy. Food however was of reasonably standard. Service was good and staff were friendly. Best to prebook table for Sunday as very busy. There is a free car park.
