St Peters Finger
Situated in the picturesque village of Lytchett Minster just half a mile from the A35 between Poole and Bere Regis, the St Peters Finger is the perfect example of a friendly traditional English pub that we all know and love. Popular with locals and dog walkers we're dog friendly in the bar area, but we only allow service animals in the restaurant.

If you'd like to bring your best-doggy-friend to visit us, please let us know when you book your table, with a large garden, roaring log fires, great food, including regularly changing specials, and award-winning Badger beers, it's cosy in the winter and glorious in the summer. The latest in our 'Brewers Choice' range of seasonal cask beers is a golden ale with fruity, tropical flavours.
Services
We've been working hard over the past few months to make sure all of our delicious food dishes are just that little bit better. As well as our usual favourites like Steak & Tangle Foot Pie, Hand-Battered Fish & Chips and our famous H&W Burger, we've also got a range of tasty sandwiches and of course our delicious Sunday Roasts, which we think are the best (apart from Mum's!)
We've scoured the world to find the best drinks available including our very own range of Badger beers, which have been brewed in the heart of the Dorset countryside since 1777 and are only sold in Hall & Woodhouse pubs. There's also lagers and wines from around the world, refreshing ciders, soft drinks and an ever increasing range of spirits, particularly local and regional gins.
Sandbanks Beach is undoubtedly the BEST beach on the South Coast of England. Some would say in Britain! Sandbanks itself is a small peninsula, which contains some of the most expensive houses and land in the country. In fact the area is becoming as famous for its well know residents and the lavish lifestyles of some of its occupants as it is for its beach and stunning sea views.
One of the delights of the perfect English Country pub is that it is at the heart of its community, a place where people can come together. That's why we believe it's so important for us to give something back to our local community. Below are just a couple of things we do to help out in some small way.
Take the A35 from Poole, at the Bakers Arms Roundabout take the 3rd exit onto Dorchester Road (B3067), follow this road for roughly 0.5 miles, you will see the St Peters Finger on your right. Lovely pub and staff, unfortunately food not great, went for Sunday lunch, had beef which looked like it was from a packet,, veg was watery and taste less and it was cold, asked for extra gravy which took ages to come, thought that might warm it up but that was cold too

Visited many times and it has been a consistently good pub. Solid wood furniture, low ceilings, local beer, classic pub grub with modern updates (a Korean tofu dish most recently) and friendly staff. Dog friendly and outdoor seating

After walking into 2 pubs previous to have a meal and being told they were fully booked, St Peters Finger was our 3rd pub and we got lucky, they had a table. Both my husband and I are really glad the pubs before were fully booked as we would not of ended up here. Wow this place is amazing. We had a warm welcome from all the staff. A really good menu, some classics on there. I had rib eye cooked medium rare to perfection, hubby had the pie. Both meals delicious so we had puds too and they were wonderful. We are only in the area for a weekend break. I would not hesitate to visit this place again

After a long day of travelling my parents treated us to a meal at St Peter’s Finger. It had a wonderful atmosphere and the food was excellent. I had the red pepper hummus with flat bread to start, beer battered fish and chips which I find is generally a good gauge of the quality of the food, and a raspberry and vanilla creme brûlée to finish. Allowing for the fact that the pub was extremely popular, the food arrived in a reasonable time and definitely not orthodox the wait. They have an extensive menu along with a ‘specials’ menu that changes regularly. The whole family enjoyed their food

As the sign of the door says…food magicians. Although we didn’t quite make the Sunday roasts disappear as the portions were very generous. Absolutely lovely though. Staff really friendly and efficient and lovely ambiance this evening. Thanks

First time we've visited here.
Everything was spot on. Very covid secure with one way system around the pub in place.
We sat in the garden at the front of the pub and managed easily to order and pay for food and drinks by scanning the QR code on the table.
Food was delicious and service was excellent. Thank you to all concerned. We will definitely return next time we are in the area.

Lovely atmosphere and great food. Due to COVID-19 you need to book. The tables are socially distanced and the printed menus are disposed of after each customer has used them. The staff bring your order to you on a tray and you take it from the tray, as a safe guarding measure. There is a step up into the pub however the door space is wide so could be wheelchair accessible. The toilets are clean.
The staff were very pleasant, smiling and friendly. The whole place looked clean and had a cosy charm. The food was very good, I had ham egg and chips with piccalilli, the triple cooked chips were the
