The Cock & Bottle Inn
Nestled in the heart of Morden The Cock and Bottle is steeped in tradition. With parts of the pub dating back some 400 years we offer all the charms of an "olde-worlde" Dorset village inn. It is said that the name of the pub was derived from the days when horses were stabled here.

When an extra heavy load of wood from the nearby estate was being transported up the hill a lead horse was attached to the front of the team, this was known as the "cock" horse (as in the nursery rhyme, ride a cock horse to Banbury Cross). At the top when released the horse would wonder back to the stable.

Just popped in on the off chance for lunch. Very friendly Landlord and staff. The food was outstanding and my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. Not very often we both have an enjoyable meal. We’ll definitely be back as there is so much choice on the menu it was difficult to decide but I had the venison and my husband had steak and kidney pudding. Both meals were delicious 👍😊

Friendly family run public house with a good choice of ales. The restaurant has a good selection of meals that are well worth paying that little bit extra for. This is not your Weatherspoons menu. 10/10.

Had to abort or first trip here as the car park was full to overflowing with an amateur car show. Maybe all these guys could park on the grass instead of in the cast park as well? Anyway, the 2nd time was more successful. Great food and prompt service.

Quiet village with a pub that is still functioning. Not so much a drinkers pub anymore as emphasis is on food. However plenty of outside seating and good sized car park. Lovely view from the garden. Easy to get to from the A35.
