Excellent value for money, great staff, well kept Ales, good food, comfy and warm rooms…a real surprise on many fronts as my expectations were low due to last minute booking and price/availability….a true gem ;-)

I was not impressed. The function room was cold. Tables put together, no room to move. Food was cold. Sent it back to reheat only to get it put on a warm plate but food was still cold.

This was a dreadful experience. As a family of 3 grandparents, daughter and granddaughter we had booked what we thought would be a lovely meal, how wrong could we be. We had visited the restaurant earlier and had a drink and viewed the menus, we booked for a meal later on returning @ 6:30pm and 4 of us had decided to have the restaurant “Special” seafood linguine, to be told after we had ordered that they did not have any linguine!! But they would substitute with spaghetti, as we had set our heart in this dish we thought ok, we will still have it. We had also ordered wine and drinks amd a burger

Amazing food, good menu, huge portions, friendly staff all in a convenient location. Plenty of parking and a children's play area. Outside and inside seating available. A must if you're in the area.

We were staying with friends and visited the pub (last done just before first lockdown!). The price increase was disappointing, £15 for a burger, £7 for white bait starter, but we were glad to be out and helping local business get back on its feet. However, the food was poor to average at best. The whitebait was overpowered by batter and overcooked. The burger was dreadful, supposedly accompanied by king prawns. They were tiny, overcooked and enveloped in batter. The tomato was the end piece and I couldn’t cut through it, so I just ate the chips, which weren’t great either. We all felt the

Fairly good. Butternut Soup with the bread was wonderful and enjoyed by all who tried. Service is slow but didn't have many working it seemed so they were always rushing. Burger was the usual type, steak was enjoyed by the others. All in all not bad for stopping while driving.

Don't let the reasonable looking outside of this establishment fool you. The food served is distinctly average: for example, limp salad served with chronically overdone steak. I've seen better food at motorway services.

And, as for the service by the owner, it seems that he has not understood the idea of customer service. My family asked for a buffet to be made; a varied was promised; we received a small selection of dower sandwiches. It appeared the owner wanted to maximise his profits, caring little about the quality of service given. Locals say that the owner has been bankrupt twice
