Governors work closely with headteachers, school staff and representatives from the local authority (LA). St Charles RCVA Primary School adhere to the statutory guidance from the Department of Education. This means that governing bodies must have regard to it when carrying out duties relating to the constitution of governing bodies in maintained schools.
An application can be made for a place for a child at any time outside the admission round and the child will be admitted where there are available places. An application should be made to the school by completing the in-year admissions application form and returning it to School Places and Admissions, Children and Young People's Services, County Hall, Durham, County Durham, DH1 5UJ.
Ofsted is the Office for Standards in Education, Children's Services and Skills. Ofsted regulate and inspect schools and colleges to seek improvement in the service. They carry out large number of inspections and regulatory visits in England and publish their finding on their website.

The Department for Education (Dfe) Performance Tables provide a reliable and accessible source of comparative information on pupil attainment and progress, absence, workforce and finance.The Performance Tables include percentages of achievement to Level 4 and Level 5 or above in reading, writing and maths and the percentage of expected progress in each subject.
At St. Charles School we want our children to become, global citizens who are proud of who they are, respectful towards others and know their responsibilities with their local and global communities. These British Values underpin everything we do within school. As a Catholic School, we seek to live out the values of Jesus Christ and promote these values through our teachings and actions.

My boys had their primary education here.
This is a RC school which has great ethos and track record.
