Our values and aims are built on Christian beliefs and principles, embodied not only in our status as a Church School, but also in our everyday interactions and activities. We support each other to build respect, friendship and effective teamwork. Our mission statement is: 'Learning today for tomorrow's world' and we achieve this through high quality teaching and learning, well matched to the needs and interests of our pupils.
We believe that pupils learn most efficiently when they are enthusiastic, interested and enjoy their learning from teachers who are confident, knowledgeable and creative in their teaching. I am very proud of the talented staff we have at Belmont who, together constantly strive to provide the very best for the pupils in our care.

Services
At Belmont Church of England Primary School we aim to nurture the very best in each individual within a caring, Christian community to enable each child to be the best they can be. To promote Christian values and to show concern and care for the well being of all members of the school community and those associated with it.
God sent Noah a rainbow as a sign of his promise- his rainbow of love. Jesus promised, 'I am with you always, to the end of time'. We promise to love and care for everyone in our Belmont family. As a school we would seek to enable every member to be the best that they can be, achieving their greatest potential academically, socially and spiritually.
Through the 'Sport Premium' the Government is providing extra funding to support the delivery of PE and sport in primary schools. This funding is ring fenced and is allocated directly to primary schools across England, providing them with dedicated resources to buy in expertise and support. Primary schools will be able to determine what they believe to be the most appropriate use of this funding.
Our Nursery offers a wide range of learning experiences in a warm and welcoming learning environment. We work very closely with our Reception staff; this strengthens our EYFS Team and ensures a smooth transition for the children from Nursery to Reception. We currently offer the 15 and 30 hour childcare provision during term time, as well as paid extra sessions.
Any parents considering making an application for their child to attend our school may arrange to visit by contacting the school office. Most parents visit during the Autumn Term before admission forms for YR pupils need to be returned to County Hall for places the following September. Please visit the Durham County Council website for information regarding the school admission process and primary school admissions.
