We believe that all pupils have an equal right to develop and achieve their potential. Equality of opportunity underpins the school curriculum and the work of the school. Children at Tudhoe Colliery are treated as individuals with their own abilities, difficulties, attitudes, backgrounds and experiences.
We are training Arthur up to be a therapy dog. At the moment, Arthur's work with the children is centred around visiting classes on his lead with Miss Boustead, where he meets the children, has lots of pats and occasionally pinches labels and books from the floor. He has completed his Puppy Foundation training classes and is now working towards his Kennel Club Bronze Award.
Our Breakfast Club starts at 7:45am each morning and runs until the start of the school day. Children must arrive by 8:30am if they require breakfast. You will need to register your child before they attend for the first time. Breakfast Club Registration Forms are available on the school website or in the front office.
Within school, we teach a wide variety of sports, including gymnastics, dance, athletics, OAA and different bat and ball games depending on the year group. We also have specialist coaches, provided by Sedgefield SSP, who enhance our PE provision by providing unique PE lessons, after school clubs and taster days in sports such as archery, fencing, disability sports and yoga.
