We are a small school in the North East of England, in County Durham. We have four classes, one of which includes nursery aged children. We also provide free 'Play and Learn' childcare places for eligible two year old children. If you want to know more about this, please look in the 'About Us' section of this website. We have just under one hundred and ten children, from ages two to eleven. We also provide 30 hours nursery in line with a recent government initiative.
Services
Ludworth Primary School is a small, happy and caring school sent in a rural part of County Durham, approximately 5 miles from both Durham city centre and Peterlee in opposite directions. We offer children wonderful learning experiences organised and delivered by fantastic, dedicated staff in an exciting and stimulating environment.
We firmly believe that Every Child Matters and aim to provide all children in our care with a broad and balanced curriculum where they can enjoy their experiences and achieve highly with a rich curriculum relevant to the 21st century. We aim to serve the community and promote life long learning for all.
Children should arrive at school for 8:50 am. Children from classes 2, 3 and 4 should arrive through the main playground gate where a teacher will greet them, and then they go straight to their classrooms to get ready for the start of the school day. Reception children should arrive through the Nursery / Reception entrance.
We offer Nursery places both morning and afternoon. We therefore have capacity to take up to 26 nursery aged children, depending on how many children are accessing 30 hours provision. We also have the ability to extend an eligible child's provision to suit personal circumstances and this will incur an additional cost.
We provide eight places for children who are two years of age and who meet government specified criteria. Current Statement of Special Educational Needs or an Education, Health and Care Plan (child).
