I arrived at class stressed and exhausted as usual but by the end of the class I felt lighter, relaxed and felt a sense of coming home to myself. It was healing to recognise such shifts in me from feeling stressed and tired to feeling more open, light and free! Yoga is practical and experiential, it is the study of the Self.

Yoga brings us back to the place within ourselves where we feel whole, connected and at peace. Modern life often pulls us away from this deeper place of contentment and inner wisdom that is within each of us, Yoga takes us back there. There is also an extensive and varied Philosophical body of work to delve into which support the practical teachings including many ancient texts as well as modern interpretations of yoga's ancient wisdom.

Anusara is a powerful hatha yoga system that combines elegant alignment for the body and mind and weaves in life affirming Tantric philosophy which takes us deeper into our heart. I continue to be to be a student of all limbs of yoga. I am qualified and experienced in teaching Yoga Nidra ( deep relaxation ), Meditation and Kirtan as well as children/ teens yoga.
I truly love to share the powerful teachings of Yoga. My classes are mostly mixed ability ( to reflect life ) so everyone is welcome. If you are a beginner I will guide you in beginning basic instructions. If you are more experienced I will offer you some different variations/ options to take you deeper within a pose and or deeper into your Self.
Nowadays, my path has hugely moved more into Bhakti Yoga (Yoga of the Heart/ Devotion). I have always brought heart oriented themes into my yoga classes however, my new passion is to help open the heart with chanting through the practice of Kirtan. I graduated with Nikki Slade ' Learn to Lead Kirtan' in 2017.
The word meditation is derived from the latin ' mederi ' - to heal. I love this! It shows me that meditation is the means to heal ourselves of the scattered and disharmonious facets of the mind and personality. Our mind has likes and dislikes, our emotions can vary throughout the day but meditation can help to bring balance to the mind and emotions.
