Alkas Yoga
Yoga had originated in India about 5000 years ago. Its physical aspect consists of various postures, which are known as asanas. Each asana requires you to get into a particular pose and alignment in order to derive proper benefits. Besides these asanas, the other important physical manoeuvres are Pranayama (Yogic breathing), mudras (yoga of the hands) and meditation which are practiced in our classes and are of immense benefit in life.

Sanj, is a been fantastic therapist. I have been struggling with anxiety for many years now and have tried many meditation programs to control my thoughts. I have only had 3 sessions and can see that my thoughts and actions in life are already changing. I will continue going and will certainly be looking to go in to other exercises and programs on offer through him. He's someone that seems to offer many options to change without showing too much sympathy. I would certainly recommend him to people that want a change in their lives.

My yoga exercise with Alka always revitalise my day with energy & strength to carry out my day's work without getting tired. Also good sleep using her breathing technique.

How lucky I was to find such a grounding, compassionate and inspiring yoga teacher!
Alka teaches in a way that makes it accessible for everyone - when I joined her class I knew absolutely nothing about yoga - but I now have a solid understanding of physical alignment and generally the way my own body moves! As I got to grips with my quirks (the things I can and can’t do) - Alka gently pushes me to develop, always knowing when I am capable of doing a new pose before I realised it myself.
The directions are clear and precise so you’re not looking up to check you’re doing the right thing,

Alka is a great yoga teacher, she is patient and very supportive, yet encourages us to push through our comfort zone. I have been going to her classes for over 4 years and have noticed a huge improvement in my flexibility and overall well being. She combines building our physical strength with relaxing our minds perfectly! Her yoga postures constantly evolve and so we experience our own personal growth and progress regularly. She is attentive to all her students and provides options for all levels, a truly inclusive teacher.

I have found Alka's yoga has been extremely beneficial to my overall health. I have done it for a number of years would recommend it to anyone wishing to learn or improve their yoga.

I attended Alka’s zoom yoga classes for most of my pregnancy. The classes are excellent and I like the challenging and progressive nature of them. Alka is very supportive in adapting positions in accordance with health needs whilst helping you get the most from the session. There’s always lots of content covered and I always feel great after every class. Highly recommend. Alka is a great teacher.

I've been attending Alka's classes for several years. Prior to starting her classes I shopped around for yoga classes but found Alka's classes to be the best. She's transformed me from a complete novice to a yogi addict. When I started her classes I struggled with basic asanas but after her guidance and encouragement I'm able to hold chatarunga, headstand and complex twist poses.
Would definitely 100% recommend her to all ages, abilities. Go for it...you won't regret it.

Alka is an amazing yoga teacher. She caters for all levels & is patient & encouraging. I started as a beginner & through her classes I have become more flexible, even my knees are stronger! I use her breathing exercises to help me relax. I would definitely recommend!

I have been attending Alka's classes for many years. I started as an absolute beginner and have made significant progress due to her outstanding teaching. She communicates brilliantly and us able to adapt each posture to your individual needs. I love her sessions and look forward to each class.
