Hi, I'm Helen Ryan, Northamptonshire's Premier Fat Loss Expert and owner of Starlight Fitness. I work mainly, though not exclusively, with women over the age of 35 who have started to experience changes in their bodies as time goes on and who have this unfounded belief that it is harder to lose weight and get into shape.

It can be hard to find the time to exercise when you have a baby, but now there is a way for new Mums to jog and get fit with their babies in Northampton. Buggies in the Park sessions are held in Abington Park every Tuesday at 11am. As Northamptonshire's Premier Fat Loss Expert, my mission is to make Northamptonshire the healthiest county in the country!
DO: Wait to get the all-clear from your GP at your postnatal check to re-start your exercise routine - approx. 6-8 weeks after the birth (10 wks after a C- section.) DON'T: Think that because baby is no longer a passenger you can jump straight back to your previous exercise regime. Respect your body, give it time to heal and recover from the amazing nine month journey.

Having personal training sessions with Helen is great as she really takes me out of my comfort zone. I jog and take spinnng classes regularly and these sessions work well to compliement that activity and really hone in on the areas I want to tone. The sessions are enjoyable yet challenging with good variety so there’s no time to get bored or frustrated. I asked Helen to focus on strengthening and toning my core and after a month I can really see and feel a difference, great timing for my summer holiday!
