Castle View Primary School
Our school is in the town of Matlock, on the edge of the Peak District overlooking the impressive Riber Castle. The main school building dates back to the late 1800s, but has had many alterations and additions since then. We are an extensive site, with our own separate Hall, Dining Kitchen, playing field and Key Stage 1 and 2 buildings, as well as a purpose built Nursery.

We host a daily breakfast club and a range of after school clubs, as well as weekly enrichment groups which consist of; singing, drumming, cookery, outdoor learning, craft, sports and young enterprise. We believe that our children should blossom and flourish in a culture of respect. We strive to ensure our children have the characteristics and skills to achieve.
Services
Our whole school believes we are' learners for life.'. As staff we are continuously reflecting on learning to ensure that we continually meet the needs of our children, in an ever changing world, and promote life long learning for all. This website is aimed at giving an insight in to us, who we are and some of the things that we do.but this is only a very small snap shot of us and our children, so please come and meet us yourself.
Please find details of all our governor agreed policies and procedures in this section; all of these help us to make our school a safe place for all staff and pupils. External reviews and our current spending on pupil premium and sports premium can all be found here.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to ask, just by phoning the school office, emailing (please see 'contact us') or giving us feedback on the parents section of the website.
At Castle View we have a very experienced team, supported by our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator; Mrs Sorrell. We employ a graduated response to pupils needs which ensures we asses, plan, do and review. Termly reviews of all pupils take place to ensure all children are making progress and achieving.
Here's a snap shot of what we plan to spend the pupil premium money on, why and what impact it has had on outcomes last year. Pupil premium is money that is given to the school to spend on ensuring pupils who are entitled to free school meals is spent on supporting them in their education. Below is an outline of how this money was used last year and the impact this has had on the pupils.
Holding the Headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils, and the performance management of staff;. Overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent. In order to do this they meet as a Resources Committee and a School Improvement Committee each half term.

A wonderful school in a beautiful setting. Every child is considered an individual and their care is at the heart of everything the school does from early years all the way through. I absolutely recommend it!
