Blackwell Primary School is a friendly, energetic and forward-thinking community primary school based in the village of Blackwell, Derbyshire. We have 120 places in school across four classes, with a mixed year group arrangement. Our nursery operates in the mornings and shares space with our reception class as a full Early Years Foundation Stage unit.
As a cluster, we firmly believe that the success of any partnership depends on maintaining high levels of trust with all partners. We work with any school within the cluster at risk of falling standards or who are encountering difficulty to identify appropriate strategies or interventions, sharing our expertise of having dealt with a similar situation in a different context.
At Blackwell we're proud to stand by our vision and aims and every day your child spends with us we strive to live by our school motto. They are more likely to succeed and perform well when their potential is realised and used to the maximum extent.
Our governing body applies the regulations on admissions fairly and equally to all those who wish to attend this school. This was later revised in the Education Act of 2002. Our Admissions policy conforms to the regulations that are set out in that Act and are further explained in the statutory School Admissions Code of Practice and the statutory Appeals Code of Practice.
As a Governing Board, we are dedicated to ensuring the pupils at Blackwell Primary School receive the best education possible. We are committed to continually improve the teaching and learning experience of our children, to ensure the pupils receive a broad, balanced, creative curriculum. We strive to create an environment where pupils can access a wide variety of opportunities to help them achieve their full potential.
