Following a lengthy history of teaching and learning at both of the former Beauvale schools, a new era of education in the Newthorpe area was embarked upon as Greasley Beauvale Primary School opened its doors for the first time. The history of all three schools (the new Primary School and the former Junior and Infants Schools) are documented here.

Services
We are a happy, hard-working school community and we value team work from all involved with the school. This includes children, parents, staff and governors working together to make sure that our school remains the best it can possibly be at all times. At Greasley Beauvale, we pride ourselves on delivering a high-quality curriculum, where our children can grow and develop (not only academically, but socially and emotionally too).
The school he attended was renamed "Greasley Beauvale D. H. Lawrence Infant School" in his honour. The school is not responsible for the content of these sites and parents should supervise children in their use. D. H Lawrence Birthplace Museum Book a timed tour of the Birthplace Museum to learn about family life in the mining community which shaped Lawrence's formative years.
Last date for exceptional late applications and changes to preference to be received in order to be considered by the admission authority as on time. Proof of residence to be received where relevant. This information is intended to provide clarity and transparency to children and parents or carers about what to expect from remote education where national or local restrictions require entire cohorts (or bubbles) to remain at home. A child's first day or two of being educated remotely might look different from our standard approach, while we take all necessary actions to prepare for a longer period of remote teaching.
Our provision for children in and out of school has continued to evolve and develop since this time. On the final day before schools closed (20/03/20) a blended learning book complete with all the child's login details for the various learning platforms used in school was sent home. We had been using Class Dojo across school for communication between teacher and family for some time so families were already familiar with this.
