Your pets are our priority and our skilled team of veterinarians and vet nurses are dedicated to providing the highest quality care for your animals. Because we love animals and strive to provide excellent continuity of care, we are open seven days a week and offer access to 24-hour emergency care.

Services
Seymour Vets was started in 2006 by Richard Mitchell, Huw Peplow and Matthew Gopal. It was previously known as Munnings, Mitchell and Peplow, which was established in the mid-eighties by Nicholas Munnings. Having outgrown our previous premises at Seymour Cottage we moved to the Old Smugglers Inn in 2011.
Here at Seymour Vets, we're very proud to have so many dedicated individuals working in our friendly practice. We are all passionate about animals and their well-being, from our veterinary surgeons and qualified nurses to our essential support staff. Highly trained and caring, each of us has a role to play in making this a special practice for you to visit with your pet.
The veterinary surgeons will see you in the surgery by appointment, which can be made with reception. However, urgent cases can still be seen on the same day. We aim to offer a continuity of care, so where possible your pet can be seen by the veterinary surgeon that has been treating them. We are happy to visit owner's premises and make house calls for all species.
In the event of an emergency during our normal opening hours please call your local surgery and you will be advised what to do next. If your call is during the night or at the weekend whilst our clinic is closed, please contact MiNightVet South Devon on 01803 866073. MiNightVet South Devon are our preferred emergency services partner.
Huw qualified in 1982 from Cambridge University. He worked initially in mixed practice in Ludlow, Shropshire moving to Bideford and then Abingdon before settling in Totnes. He has three cats, a dog and three horses. In his spare time he looks after a 20 acre small-holding, builds kit cars and enjoys skiing.

This is the very worst vets I have ever been to. The staff are very rude and unprofessional. We have had many bad experiences here, the latest resulting in the untimely death of my daughter's beloved pet. The vet we saw today didn't have a clue what he was doing. It cost my daughter £80 and two hours later he was dead. I have two heartbroken daughter's!!!
We will never use you again!!

Excellent service from this vets surgery since we moved into the area. Routine examinations and vaccinations are handled quickly and professionally (I do recommend their healthy pets club). The one time we needed a fast appointment for an injury, we were seen quickly and were very happy with the treatment and follow up advice.
