Moorgate Veterinary Group is a mixed animal practice, which means we care for all animals small or large. We have been serving the area for over 50 years and our vets' usual day can include delivering baby lambs, routine pet vaccinations, taking x-rays, tuberculin testing in cattle and much more. As you head into Moretonhampstead, our surgery is on the right hand side before you reach the mini roundabout. We have limited parking at our Moretonhampstead branch, therefore we recommend you park in the public car park. Go through Moretonhampstead - our surgery is on the left hand side just after the mini roundabout.
As well as offering hospitalisation and a well-equipped surgical theatre, we have extensive diagnostic and medical facilities. We have a dedicated operating theatre for aseptic surgery with a full range of surgical equipment. We also have a separate preparation area. We have an in house laboratory which allows us to perform tests in minutes not days, ensuring your pet gets the best treatment as soon as possible.
Our friendly team believes that your pets deserve to receive the best treatment available from vets that you know day or night. All of our veterinary staff have undergone extensive training and regularly update their knowledge to ensure your pets and livestock receive the best possible care and attention.
Our Pet Care Plan allows you to spread the cost of caring for your pet throughout the year. It covers your pet for all their basic health care needs, including preventative treatments and expert advice, giving you complete peace of mind.

Absolutely my favourite veterinary practice in the area, the staff make it what it is. Patient, caring, and they genuinely care for not only the animals they treat, but also show a high level of compassion for the owners too. Couldnt recommended enough. The only issue I can even comment on having is the parking can be a game of tetris but that's easily negotiable with good parking skills and the odd 30 point turn. Happy to travel a 30 min drive to see some of the best practicing vets and veterinary nurses. I even used to drive 4 hours when living in other counties to have my dog seen here and stay
