Hello my name is Brett Stevenson and I am the Headteacher at Pillowell. Pillowell is a traditional primary school, we cater for children throughout the Primary age range (4-11). Education starts at Pillowell within our Early Years provider and here we provide an exciting and relevant curriculum where play is the focus and learning occurs as a natural, yet planned, progression.
We have two points of access to the school. Firstly, the main entrance, immediately adjacent to the front end of the school, or the school office, secondly the lower entrance by the two old school houses. If you have one child in Hepworth and one in Hockney, then you should use the entrance for Hepworth (B).
At Pillowell School, all pupils are welcome to try some of our delicious school meals. The ingredients are as fresh as can be, and the dishes are designed to offer the children a nutritious and balanced diet. ALL children in KS1 are entitled to Universal Infant Free School Meals. If your child is to have a school meal, they are always given a choice of meal.
From September the children will need their full school uniform to be worn each day, except for the days that they have PE. On those particular days they may wear their PE kit. This is similar to the current arrangements. Usually the children have PE twice a week. However, we would like to re-emphasise the need for PE Kit requirements.
The Internet, E-Mail, Social Networking, Smart Phones, iPads. They offer many incredible opportunities to expand our knowledge about the World around us and to communicate with each other. As a school we use these facilities all the time. But it is important that we all, children, parents, friends, relatives and teachers know how to use information technology effectively and safely.
