From myself and the whole Pembroke team, I would like to welcome you and your child to Pembroke Primary School. This Website has been designed to help you to get to know more about the life and work of our fabulous school. I am very proud to be Head teacher of Pembroke Primary school. A great deal of time and effort is spent by everyone in making this a really special place to work, learn and play.

I believe that Pembroke offers all of its children an excellent education that is full of challenge, interest and fun. Children are encouraged to build their self-esteem and confidence, to develop self-reliance, to take risks without fear of failure and to make decisions about their own learning. We also believe that we can only achieve the best for your child by developing a close relationship between home and school.
Services
We strive to develop a love of learning through a stimulating and exciting curriculum inspired by our learners and led by the four purposes (see below) where happiness contributes to success.

We aim to contribute to all of our learner's successful futures by equipping them with the skills, experiences and confidence through purposeful activities in a safe, supportive and inclusive environment where all learners are encouraged to be the best that they can be.We believe that the purpose of the experiences we provide to our learners are to work in partnership with the whole school community to develop our children as.
Higher Level Teaching Assistant / Nursery Teacher - I am the Nursery teacher. I have worked at Pembroke Primary School for 18 years in many classes in both Foundation Phase and Key Stage 2. Having taught across the foundation classes for many years I am in the perfect position to help the nursery children learn the skills that will help them when they move up to BIG school!
Pembroke ALC is a specialised environment for those children with additional learning needs. I have been fortunate to have worked at Pembroke Primary for over 12 years, covering PPA to begin with and then joined the ALC as one of the teachers. I have seen the ALC grow from one class to three and have been lucky to work with a dedicated team.
We are proud to have a team of Heddlu Bach /Mini Police in our school. The Heddlu Bach (Mini Police) is a scheme from Gwent Police aimed at providing positive experiences at an early age, with regards to police and getting interaction between young people and the community. We have 10 students who proudly wear their mini police badges and uniforms and aim to make our school and community a better place.
Key Stage 2, we follow the 'Antur Anhygoel' schemes. The schemes are designed around the 'Pod Antur' resources developed by 'Tinopolis'. Children are given opportunities to practise Welsh in a range of real-life, engaging contexts. Year 3 follow Crad and Ffion around Wales, while Year 4 follow Izzy and Dyfs.
