We are proud of our children and believe that every child matters. This vision, and all we do in school, is underpinned by our shared values of trust, respect and pride. We have 7 classes with children from 4-11 years old. Patchway Sure Start Children's Centre and St Chad's Pre School are also based on our school site providing a variety of opportunities and support for families with young children.
Services
Governors have an enormously important role to play in running our school and helping to provide the best possible education for our children. The Governing Body works with the Head Teacher to provide a vision and a strategic framework. Its also ensures that the Head Teacher performs his responsibilities for the educational performance of the school; and ensures the sound, proper and effective use of the school's financial resources.
As a group we meet 4 times per year to discuss various financial aspects, our premises and health and safety. Ensuring there is a viable financial budget to help the school meet its aims for all of our pupils and staff. Supervise Health & Safety to ensure the school and everyone in the building are protected.
The School Nurse makes visits to carry out eye tests, height and weight recordings, hearing tests and hygiene inspections. No hair inspections are carried out at school, so we do ask parents to make regular checks for head-lice accordingly. Regular combing at bedtime reduces the chances of head-lice, as does tying back long hair.
During the school day all activities that are a necessary part of the National Curriculum plus religious education will be provided free of charge. This includes any materials, equipment and transport to take pupils between the school and the activity. It excludes charges made for teaching an individual pupil or groups of pupils to play a musical instrument.
All admissions into the school are co-ordinated by South Gloucestershire Council. Families are always welcome to visit the school to look around and ask any questions they may have - please contact the school office to make an appointment. Further information on how to apply for a place at the school is available from the school office or visit South Gloucestershire admissions.
