St. John's is a happy, caring and energetic Church of England Primary School at the heart of a vibrant community in Clifton and Redland. We are a Church of England school with an inclusive, modern and vibrant vision, respecting all religions and world views. Our core belief is that there are no limits to how highly our children can achieve. We aim to develop the whole child and offer every individual the opportunity to discover their strengths, fulfill their potential and fly high like an eagle.
St. John's is proud to be an educationally inclusive school. The achievement, well-being and perspective of every person in the school matters and this is made evident in our vision and ethos. Our school is a rich, diverse community where everyone, no matter what their background or ability, is encouraged to look to the horizon for the possibilities of what can be achieved, both for themselves and those around them.
A prerequisite for all learning in the classroom is a good relationship between staff and children and every year we ensure plenty of time is given to forge and cement these important connections. Working in partnership with home and parents, our teachers build a bond with children that enables them to feel safe and secure within the school environment.
Our highly skilled team are dedicated to ensuring our children achieve the highest standards possible. Across the school, while our cohorts may vary, our children's attainment is higher than the national average and often significantly so. In 2019, the children in Year 6 who achieved the higher standard of "greater depth" in all 3 subjects was 17% higher than the national average.
St. John's is very fortunate to have two school sites at the top of Whiteladies Road that have both been specifically designed with our infant and junior children in mind. Our infants (aged 4-7) are based at Lower Redland Road and our juniors (aged 7-11) are located a short walking distance away at our Worrall Road site.
