Goldsborough Church of England Primary School (VC) is a popular, inclusive, rural school situated in an idyllic location in the village of Goldsborough, close to Knaresborough. Class 4 have been doing practical investigations an how to change the brightness of a bulb or buzzer. We had some very. The children enjoyed watching the drumming today and experimenting with the drums themselves.
They all had a turn at leading the group. Today, Class 4 became Climate Heroes - this involved making pledges to reduce carbon emissions through the Blue Peter green badge appeal. If you need information in a format such as Braille, large print, audio or paper copy, please get in touch.

As a distinctive Church school, we ensure that our Christian Values are the heart-beat of everything we do. Through the teaching of Jesus, we learn as one united school, federation and local community where everyone is welcomed to 'work together to be the best that we can be'. When individuals work together, they can double their strength and get much more done as a team.
Vision: As a distinctive Church School, we are 'Working together to be the best that we can be.' As a Church community, we ensure that the Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs are met for every child on a daily basis and that all of God's Children are valued.
When children feel safe and secure and have the right mind set, they are more able to tackle the curriculum, learn to the best of their ability and truly flourish in their primary education. Our school community works together to build positive relationships - we care for one another and the world around us.

We encourage and support our children to be "courageous advocates". This means they champion causes which are special and meaningful to them. These may be global issues or matters far more personal and closer to home. They may bring stories to school about a charity they wish to support, or something they wish to raise awareness of within our school and wider community.
We decided to host an alternative Valentines event called 'Love in the Community'. Our aim was to invite some of our more elderly members of the community who may feel lonely at times. The children welcomed our guests with two songs that they sang acapella - one from Collective Worship (Thank you to God) and a special song they learned when the Mighty Zulu Nation visited.

Our school is an important part of the community, maintaining close links with the parishioners, particularly through our planned events with Reverend Stroma McDermott (the Team Vicar) and Reverend Garry Hinchcliffe (the Team Rector), both of whom are key figures in school representing St. Mary The Virgin - the church which stands at the heart of Goldsborough village.
