I hope you will find all the information you need on this website. I also hope to show you what makes our school a very special place for all children. We offer a warm and friendly environment where children are nurtured from the Early Years right up to the end of Key Stage 2. As an inclusive school, we believe that children are entitled to access the full curriculum equitably and we aim to provide whatever support individual children need to flourish.
As a Church of England school, we aim to develop the whole child through excellent social, emotional, spiritual and moral education underpinned by Christian Values, such as respect, tolerance, friendship and trust.

Furthermore, when we take children to visit places where there may be lots of other schools in attendance (for example a concert or sports fixture), having a distinctive St Mary's uniform helps staff to ensure the safety of the children in their care. Our school dinners run on a three weekly menu rotation.

Good learning will not happen unless pupils are safe, well and happy. Pupil safety and well-being is of paramount importance to all St Mary's Staff. You can view our policies for health and safety, child protection, internet safety and behaviour here. Under the act of parliament, 'Keeping Children Safe in Education', all staff working in schools have a responsibility to follow up any safeguarding concerns about children in their care.
We have included leaflets and useful numbers that we hope you will might find helpful. Minded for families is a website with useful advice about mental health issues affecting children of all age groups. At St Mary's School we support children with a broad spectrum of needs. As a smaller school we are able to offer a nurturing, inclusive approach as small class sizes allow staff to spend time catering for pupils' different strengths. Mrs Silkstone, our SEN co-ordinator. She may also seek advice and support from external partners, such as the Speech and Language Therapists or SENIT (Leeds Special Education Needs Inclusion Team).
