We are determined to create an inviting environment where all children feel safe, included and keen to learn. We do this by offering them high quality experiences and opportunities to engage in their own learning. Encouraging them to challenge themselves and develop the skills and attitudes to make them lifelong learners.

These skills extend much further than the classroom, including the arts, gardening, sports, music, cooking and much more. Please look around our curriculum and classes to see the different topics our children explore, the activities they engage in and the skills they practise. Our super heroes encourage and remind our children that learning is not always easy, but can be fun and rewarding if they use their own special powers.
Services
At Swarcliffe, we understand the importance of being literate and pride ourselves in developing these core skills within a rich and broad curriculum. We expect our children to apply all these skills to the best of their ability in all subjects in our curriculum. As well as this, we endeavour to interest our children in their learning with a creative and cross-curricular approach.
I have been a Chair of Governors at Swarcliffe Primary since 2017. As the chair of the governing board my main role is to lead and direct the board of governors to ensure that we function effectively to meet our core functions.

These core functions are to ensure clarity of vision in the ethos and strategic direction of the school, to hold the senior leaders to account for the educational performance of the pupils and to make sure our school funds are well spent.I am a solicitor by profession but have not worked now for a number of years while I have been raising my own family.
To further support the wellbeing of our families, we have recently created the Family First Initiative. This is based at Swarcliffe Primary School and consists of two family support workers, Ms. Bev Fisher and Ms. Suzanne Wilson. You may have already met them as over the past few weeks, they have been working within our community, calling on some of our families for a chat and delivering food and food vouchers.
We will provide further details closer to the time once these have been confirmed with the local authority and governors. At the moment we envisage the return being very similar to the start of school in September. We will continue to work in 'bubbles' and limit the mixing of these to a minimum, other additional measures will remain in place to ensure the safety of all pupils, staff and families.
We are pleased to announce that after the Easter break, we will be accepting payments online for items such as dinner money, school trips and uniform. Using a secure website called ParentPay you will be able to pay online using your credit or debit card. ParentPay will be our preferred method of making payments to school.
