Call
On behalf of all the staff, governors and children at Our Lady's, I would like to welcome you to our school website. We are proud that our ethos enables all our children to achieve their potential by the time they leave Year 6. At Our Lady's we are passionate about the development and progress of our children and through hard work and dedication we are able to create a positive environment where all our children can 'Love, Learn and Enjoy'.

The children in Year 3 and 4 have been working hard to share our traditional Easter Story with you. We hope you enjoy our virtual Easter Presentation. Year 6 officially welcomed our Reception Class and their families to Our Lady's School through a virtual class assembly in September.
Services
Our Lady's Catholic Primary is situated in Seacroft on the North-East edge of the city of Leeds. We are a one form entry school providing education for 3-11 year olds. The school's ethos is firmly based on the Christian Gospels and our aim is to provide a caring, secure and disciplined environment where pupils can reach their potential and become increasingly independent.
Our mission is to deliver an outstanding and distinctive Catholic education with Christ at the heart of our community. Together, we share and celebrate our faith and learning, while respecting and accepting those from other traditions and cultures. Our curriculum aims to prepare all for the global community of the 21st Century reflecting the technological age in which we all live, work and have our being.
The curriculum is organised so as to provide the children with their full entitlement to the requirements of the National Curriculum (N.C.) in an atmosphere filled with the Gospel Spirit encapsulated in the School's Mission Statement. The curriculum is organised in such a way that there is full coverage of the N.C. at a level best suited to the age and ability of the children.
Reading/Phonics: A core reading scheme is used in our school and is supplemented by a variety of good quality books to support work covered in English lessons. Reading is a major part of each English lesson. Parents are also a great help in this area of the curriculum. Children take books home to read on a regular basis.
Maths is taught largely as a whole class, with a balance between teaching skills, problem solving and using and applying the skills in a variety of contexts. At times, some children may need group intervention or one to one support if they are not meeting the required expectation for their age or have gaps in their skills.
