Rufforth Primary School
With only four classes, we are a small school with a big vision. Our school is a warm and relaxed environment in which children can thrive in every way, becoming independent and confident learners. We have high expectations of our pupils and, because they feel safe and valued within a family atmosphere, they are able to meet and exceed those expectations.

Class 1 children carefully used mirrors this afternoon during Art-time to make sure their self-portraits included all their facial features! It's that time of year again! Class 2 had an afternoon of art today and some began sketching some brilliant self-portraits, adding colour using smudgy pastel!

At Rufforth, we want our pupils to be inspired to know more about Britain's past and that of the wider world. History can help children to make sense of the world in which they live and can help them to develop a sense of identity. Our aim is that children are inspired to understand that the society in which we live has been shaped by developments in the past.

We are fortunate to have talented and dedicated staff who frequently go that extra mile for individual children and the school as a whole, offering a rich and varied curriculum. We have one of the best pupil to adult ratios in the local area (particularly at Early Years in which there are only 15 children to two adults) and this means that our children are given the very best care and attention.
Rufforth Primary School is proud to be part of Pathfinder Multi Academy Trust, a partnership of church and community schools underpinned by a shared vision, common values and a commitment to providing an excellent education to all the young people we serve. I fulfil one of the parent governor positions on the Rufforth Local Governing Committee (LGC) and in my second year as Chair. The role of the LGC is to be the strategic leaders of our school, focusing on school improvement and playing a vital role in making sure every child gets the best possible education.
Rufforth Primary School aims to promote pupils' spiritual, moral, social, and cultural development, with special emphasis on promoting equality, diversity and eradicating prejudicial incidents for pupils and staff. Our school is committed to not only eliminating discrimination, but also increasing understanding and appreciation for diversity.
