St Barnabas is a friendly, welcoming and modern school situated in extensive grounds close to York City Centre. We have a strong family ethos with close links to St Barnabas Church and the local community. Our committed and caring staff work hard to make our school a happy place in which all children are valued as individuals and nurtured in order to be the best that they can be academically, intellectually, physically, emotionally and socially.
Through a broad curriculum, we support children to develop their skills for life and to become confident and independent individuals and lifelong learners with enquiring and creative minds. We are inspired by our patron saint, St Barnabas, known as 'the Encourager'. We try to follow his example of kindness and encouragement and his resilience in the face of adversity.

In consultation with children, parents, staff and governors we have recently reviewed our vision statement and values which can be found below. We are in the process of changing our documents and website to reflect this new statement.
