Through our vision and values we hope to achieve our core purpose to 'inspire confident, resilient learners who will thrive throughout their lives'. We aspire for Copmanthorpe Primary School to be a place where everyone has a growth mind-set, aims high, and can over come barriers to success.

Through the opportunities we provide, in partnership with parents and carers, we aim to develop children as independent, resilient learners and effective communicators. We want our children to develop a life-long love of learning to enable them to achieve and succeed in the future. We believe that education is a partnership between teachers, parents/carers, children and the wider community.

Welcome to the section of the website where you can find out more about the school's governors and what we do. At Copmanthorpe Primary there are fourteen governors who together make up the 'governing body'. The governors come from different backgrounds and include parents, teachers, members of the local community and specialists appointed by the Local Authority.

An important part of the role of the governing body is to help set the vision and values for the school, and the policies and procedures that act as a framework for how the school is run. The daily management of the school is the responsibly of the Headteacher. At Copmanthorpe Primary the full governing body normally meets five times a year to discuss and agree the school's business.
Position 2 - Relief Midday Supervisors to support the children during their lunch time between the hours of 12noon and 1pm. The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We require the successful applicant to undertake an enhanced Criminal Record check via the Disclosure and Barring Service.
Our school has been given the opportunity to take part in a new project that will run jointly between all schools, academies and colleges in York and North Yorkshire. This new project, Operation Encompass, has been designed to provide early reporting to schools of any domestic abuse incidents that occur outside of normal school hours and that might have had an impact on a child attending our premising the following day.
