At Greystones Primary School education is about children experiencing the joy of discovery, solving problems, being creative in writing, art, music, developing their self confidence as learners and maturing socially and emotionally. We aim to lay the foundations for life by offering a positive, rich experience for all pupils.
This will be carried out in a happy, safe and supportive atmosphere. We aim to combine high standards with a broad and rich curriculum. Education will be the fusion of excellence and enjoyment. Children learn better when they are excited and engaged, when there is joy in what they are doing, they learn to love learning.

In 2013, Sheffield City Council conducted a public consultation concerning the need to provide extra primary school places in the Greystones catchment area. The implications of moving the school to three form entry was that the school would need to undergo some physical building changes. The school had already drawn up plans to make some important safeguarding changes to the entrance and administrative areas of the school.
At Greystones Primary School, our history curriculum is aimed at enthusing children's inquisitive nature and to have a strong understanding of how the past has influenced not only the world at large but their own individual lives. Alongside a strong knowledge of the past, there is a focus on three main historical skills woven through individual lessons: chronological understanding, historical enquiry and historical interpretation.
Greystones Primary School, catering for the 4-11 age group, is situated approximately 2 miles to the southwest of Sheffield city centre, in an established residential district of mainly owner occupied housing. Within the area are shopping and recreational facilities. Nearby is St Gabriel's, the parish church of Greystones.
In addition to this, the leadership extends to teachers with Teaching and Learning Responsibilities. Our hearing impaired children receive specialist help from teachers of the deaf and sensory support assistants, mainly in class. They actively liaise with all staff at Greystones Primary School to ensure total inclusion.
Greystones Primary School is a local authorty maintained community primary school. Funding of the school is via grant paid to the school through Sheffield City Council. It is then the school's responsibility to successfully maintain a budget, comprising of income and expenditure which is overseen by the school's governing body.
