Carfield Community Primary School is a good school and has entered into a soft federation with Bankwood Community Primary School. Both schools will be working together to provide a rich and exciting curriculum for our children. Staff will benefit from sharing expertise across the two sites. Although larger than average, admitting children from the age of 3, Carfield is a friendly community based school.
Children and parents work together to support our children and raise funds for the school. Extra funding allows us to further enrich the curriculum through, for example, our music festival, which I am happy to note will also this year involve Bankwood musicians. Children at Carfield feel safe and happy at school which allows them to be successful in their learning.

Next week's learning packs are now all uploaded. We hope you have been enjoying the work and thank you to the teachers for their hard work in putting these together whilst teaching bubbles in school too. For our Y5s returning from 6/7/2020, there is a pupil guide here which has also been emailed to parents.
Our children will make their journey through Carfield as kind and respectful citizens with a curiosity and love for learning. Our curriculum is broad, balanced and ambitious for all and is designed to be exciting, relevant and meaningful for all pupils within our community, enabling them to shine academically and flourish socially, emotionally, morally and culturally.
Sheffield City Council have produced this Parent Guide for parents/carers of pupils with Special Educational Needs. Here are the slides from our recent training session for parents on supporting children with anxiety. You may also find these calming strategy visuals and mindfulness challenge cards useful.
The core of the PTA is a committee of up to 12 parents, and includes at least one teacher and governor who regularly attend monthly committee meetings to decide on events, projects and how funds can be best spent. None of us really knew each other before joining the PTA. However, there is something about being descended upon by 1000 salivating children at a bake sale that is just an incredibly bonding experience!
We are always looking for opportunities to give parents ways to share ideas, give feedback and generally dip their toe in. We are usually present at whole school events where you can come and chat with us. Check out our Facebook page, Twitter feed or PTAsocial for the next upcoming meeting date or look out for the posters around the school!

Amazing teachers and staff !!! They really care about my children's welfare and make learning engaging and fun for them. I am also very happy that they are diverse in teaching about a variety of religious festivals and many female historical characters. They are also doing a fantastic job coping with the changes and home schooling through this Covid crisis.
