St Matthew's Church Of England Primary School
We are delighted that you have taken the time to find out about life and learning at St. Matthew's and hope that our website gives you an insight into our happy, vibrant school. As a church school, we hold Christian values at the heart of everything we do. Every child is precious and unique and we do our very best to ensure that our children flourish and develop a passion for learning, so that they reach their full potential.

Every five years, the Diocese carries out a SIAMS inspection which considers our performance as a church school. Parents and extended family play an important role in a child's learning. We believe in securing strong partnerships which are formed in the early days and then developed and strengthened as the children go on their learning journey.
Services
At St Matthew's, we shape our history curriculum to ensure it is fully inclusive of every child. Our aims are to fulfil the requirements of the National Curriculum for history; providing a broad, balanced and differentiated curriculum that encompasses British values throughout; ensuring the progressive development of historical concepts, knowledge and skills; and for the children to study life in the past.
In Year 1, Miss Campbell, Miss Worgan, Mrs Brazil and Miss Moloney are the staff that are dedicated to supporting your child's wellbeing and happiness at school, and to ensure that they are fantastic learners. In summer 1, we are going to be learning about so many different things. Please download the summer term overview below to see what your child will be learning about.
The children have had a fabulous year in Year 2 so far. We are very pleased with their hard work, persistence and determination to do well as we continue to develop our growth mindset at St Matthew's. Class Dojo - Please continue to contact us on Class Dojo with any messages to help support social distancing in school.
As a school, we have class dojo! On our school story, there are daily stories from staff and our pupils, activities and notices. I highly recommend these websites, many members of Year 3 have already started using it and have loved it! Another great site/app is Sum Dog which can be found here - the school code is stmatthews35599.
On behalf of the staff and governors, I would like to welcome you and your family to St Matthew's Church of England Primary School. We expect children to enjoy their school life and feel safe and secure within the school family. We create an atmosphere that encourages the growth of confidence, self-discipline and the development of independent learners.

I had 3 teachers just in year four. Most teachers had no clue on how to teach properly but Miss. Doan but she left to go to a different school. Teaching, in my opinion, is below Satisfactory.
Poor Attendance.
Poor Reactions to Bullying.
Teachers need to be taught how to teach.

Popular primary school for Edgeley residents. Handy for the rail station. On election days this acts as the Polling Station.
