Woodthorpe Primary School
At Woodthorpe we aim to ensure that your children have the best possible education that equips them with the skills, knowledge, qualities and values that will follow them through life. We also aim to work closely with all members of our community to help children recognise the importance of collaboration and forming positive relationships.

Dave Smith, Headteacher at Woodthorpe Community Primary School. We are excited to inform you that our school is going to be talking part in the Healthy Minds Project. Our Healthy Minds Project letter has all the information and is available to download now!
Services
Over the coming months and years we will develop common approaches to how we co-operate, how we learn, and how we take part in a wide variety of events together. We will also extend care and support for all our children and their families. Woodthorpe Community Primary is a part of the City Community Learning Trust (CCLT).
A school site providing the resources for an innovative and exciting learning environment for the 21st Century. A professional, skilled, highly motivated staff team committed to the ethos and aims of the school. A staff team increasingly reflective of the diversity within the local and wider community.
The children in our community often face significant barriers outside of school, which may hinder their ability to access certain experiences compared with their national counterparts. 60% of our children are persistently disadvantaged. As a result, our school is determined to offer each and every child a curriculum which is both dynamic and inspiring.
Sport forms an integral part of a pupil's life at Woodthorpe Community Primary School. The school's aim is to encourage healthy living, inclusion and ensure progression and enjoyment in all areas of Physical Education. Crucially, we believe that every child should be given the opportunity to develop their potential to the very best of their abilities in competitive and non-competitive sports.
School Governors help determine the strategic direction of a school, ensure pupils and staff are safe and challenge and support the school in tackling weaknesses and bringing about necessary changes. Should you wish to become a parent governor please speak to the office staff who will be happy to advise you.
