Yoga is an inspirational journey, a practice that helps you re-connect to your body (embodied) and to slow the continuous loops of thoughts that plague us. By connecting with who you really are beneath the identities and labels we place on ourselves, we can begin to transform not only our physical selves but also our outlook on the world.

We take the journey of becoming a Human Being, rather than a Human Doing. I truly believe that each one of us is traumatised to some degree and it affects our lives in ways we are not even aware of. I offer yoga classes in various methodologies including; Embodied Hatha, Trauma Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY), Yin Yoga and Restorative Yoga.
Services
Trauma Centre, Trauma Sensitive Yoga is an evidence based treatment helping people who have suffered trauma regain safety in their body, emotional regulation and self agency within a safe, supportive space. Kirtan is Yoga of the voice, chanting as a group brings a cessation to the endless chatter of the mind and brings a sense of deep inner joy.
These dynamic classes use seasonal wisdom or inspirational text as a creative basis for class themes. Each class is different, sometimes we flow from one posture to the next creating a connection with our breath, whilst cultivating strength and stamina. Sometimes we spend time in a posture exploring correct alignment, this cultivates deeper awareness and flexibility leading to a deeper connection to our body, mind and spirit.
A one day retreat to celebrate the Autumn Equinox, in beautiful Hastoe nr Tring.45 mins from London. If this excites you, come and join us for a day of yang & yin yoga (all levels of ability and flexibility welcome), yoga nidra, walking meditation, journalling, discussion, soundbath and mantra. We will sit; eat and laugh together enjoying a delicious seasonal home cooked vegan lunch and other treats.
My change of direction leading to specialising in Trauma Sensitive Yoga In the time before "lockdown" was a common phrase, I was feeling faint rumblings of a need to change direction, but didn't know what. I know I've been promising for a while to post the recipe for the yummy chai we have after kirtan and after being reminded last night as my lovely Bhakti tribe tucked in, here it.

I have never done, nor contemplated Yoga or any of its practices and yesterday was gifted a days retreat with Soraya Yoga.
I went filled with anxiety and the unknown and was met with compassion, safety and encouragement. I learnt peace, strength, mindfulness and manifested my future goals through meditation and mindmapping. My body was rested through Yoga and nourished with by delicious Vegan feast.
I came home enlightened, clear minded and ready to take on the daily strains with a new mindset.
I cannot recommend Soraya Yoga enough.. if this is what is possible in one day I cannot wait to see
