Thorpe Acre Pre School Play Group
At Thorpe Acre Pre-school we believe in providing a happy, safe and caring environment to nurture active learning. Encourage the development and education of children in a parent involved community based group. Create an environment in which children learn respect and care for themselves, for one another and for the world around them.

Encourage children to show sensitivity to the needs and feelings of others and to respect others culture, beliefs and abilities and to respect them as individuals. The Manager and Staff use the broad curriculum to enhance the experiences children receive at home. Thorpe Acre Pre-school Playgroup is located within the grounds of Thorpe Acre Infant School, in a self contained single storey building which is accessible by stairs and ramp.
Services
If you wish to apply for a place for your child(ren) at Thorpe Acre Pre-school Playgroup then please see the following information concerning Session Times, Funding and How to Apply. Children aged 3 years old and above are very welcome to stay for both the morning and afternoon session. Nursery Education funding (both 15 hours and 30 hours) is available for all children at the beginning of the term AFTER their third birthday.
The staff carefully plan a wide range of activities for the children which recognise the children's individuality, reward their strengths and encourage their efforts. Children will be introduced to many new experiences. We provide the opportunity for children to explore and investigate the natural and man-made world, to learn about themselves and each other and to develop a cultural awareness.
At Thorpe Acre Preschool Playgroup, we promote children's right to be strong, resilient and listened to by creating an environment in our setting that encourages children to develop a positive self image, which includes their heritage arising from their colour and ethnicity, their languages spoken at home, their religious beliefs, cultural traditions and home background.
We also report any such alleged incident to Ofsted (unless advised by LADO that this is unnecessary due to the incident not meeting the threshold), as well as what measures we have taken. We are aware that it is an offence not to do this. We co-operate entirely with any investigation carried out by children's social care in conjunction with the police.
Early years settings are committed to providing quality provision based on equality of opportunity for all children and their families. At Thorpe Acre Preschool Playgroup, all staff in our provision are committed to doing all they can to enable 'looked after' children in their care to achieve and reach their full potential.
