I have been an avid Yogie since I was five and in my early teens, began Pilates to deal with the fact that I was born with Rotated Tib and Fib, Rotated ankles and knees effecting my hips and more, plus Hypo-mobility with abnormal muscle formation problems "E.D.S" effecting my daily life. All MBS equipment has been treated with a 14 day protector applied every 7 days to be safe, all for your safety while in our studio.

We recommend still to bring your own mat to be placed on top of one of our fully protected mats. If you are not an existing student of MBS or haven't attended for 2 years you will need to fill in a medical Health questionnaire which will be sent to you by email, once booked into a class, to return by email before attending the live stream class or studio class.

In 2013 I took the British Wheel of yoga foundation course with Michelle. I had no intention of teaching at all I just enjoyed the classes.
Mind Body and Spirit is a studio based in Barnsley, we run classes daytime and weekends, plus 1-2-1 session, massage and so much more, Mind Body and Spirit aim to unite your mind body and breath as one bring harmony to your body calm to your mind, and peace to your breathing, our classes will change your way of life forever, take a look at the classes, photos, etc and see for yourself.
Pilates was designed by Joseph Pilates, a gymnast born in Germany. He recommended a few precise movements emphasizing control and form to aid injured soldiers in the first world war in regaining their health by strengthening, stretching, and stabilizing key muscles. Pilates created "The Pilates Principles" to condition the entire body: proper alignment, centering, concentration, control, precision, breathing, and flowing movement.
The Antenatal class has changed into a workshop event, over some Saturday afternoons we have two versions one for just mums and one for mums and partners, covering natural birthing techniques, stabilising the pelvis and diastase plus other occurring pain such as lower back. Cancer Rehab Class (small donation of 2.50 per class) Wednesday at 12 noon Funded by Barnsley Hospital and Little Fox's, plus our own fund-raising events. This is a free class covering Pilates rehab, Yoga therapy, Pranayama and Meditation, cancer rehabilitation working on scar tissue, treatment areas and more.

I’ve just had my second session here. The studio is so lovely and relaxing, I felt at home and welcomed straight away. Wonderful people and wonderful place, so happy I decided to take that step through the door.

I love all the yoga activities that Mind Body and Spirit provide. Teachers have so much knowledge and experience. I recently went on the retreat which was amazing. Lots and lots of yoga including focus on chakras, mudras, pranayama and lots of asanas. Food was fabulous, accommodation is great and the grounds are lovely. You always make a new friend on them too. Thanks Michelle 🙏 x
