Rooftops has been established since 1994 by Elaine Walton, the Director, and is an independent nursery. We are situated on the top floor of Priestley House and are very fortunate to have two rooftop gardens. We are accessed via the stairs of Leonard Day House. The building does not have a lift facility.

Becca Coles opened York Rise Nursery School in 1991. Becca manages the nursery on a day-to-day basis. The School caters for 2-5 year olds and provides morning and afternoon sessions as well as a full day. We have a sleep room for younger children. We also provide an after-school service for Brookfield Primary School's under 5's.

The Spanish Sisters came to London over 45 years ago to help single Spanish young women who were alone and vulnerable in London. They supported them to integrate in the community, learn the language, and find employment. Some of them were mothers, and as they went to work, the Sisters looked after their children.

The nursery complies with the requirements for the Early Years Register set out in the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage.
