Becca Coles opened York Rise Nursery School in 1991. Becca manages the nursery on a day-to-day basis. The School caters for 2-5 year olds and provides morning and afternoon sessions as well as a full day. We have a sleep room for younger children. We also provide an after-school service for Brookfield Primary School's under 5's.
There are up to twenty-four children in each session with five members of staff. There are only eight two year olds in any one session. The nursery has been at the center of the local community for 30 years bringing families together. These 7 areas are used to plan your child's learning and activities.

York Rise is a wonderful nursery. My five year old daughter was there for nearly three years and my two year old is there this year. The staff are so caring and have been truly helpful when navigating changes and milestones. My children always come home happy and fulfilled, both in terms of all the different activities they engage in but also in terms of their friendships.

Our son is so happy at York Rise and couldn’t recommend it more highly. They have a gentle and supportive settling-in process which gives the kids real confidence to feel happy there, there is always a range of daily activities offering innovative and varied ways for kids to learn and play. The headteacher Becca Coles (who has been recommended time and again by parents of older kids who went to the nursery over the years) is brilliant, as are her team, providing a nurturing, fun and constructive environment for kids to grow. We are really glad we chose York Rise and will miss it when our son

A very happy nursery with a cosy environment and wonderful, highly trustworthy teachers. Our daughter loves York Rise and races in each morning to see her friends and teachers, who she loves. Head teacher Becca was especially supportive when our daughter started and was nervous about leaving me and her dad for the first time. Becca called me almost every day for the first couple of weeks to reassure me and tell me how she was settling in. It's a lovely place, highly recommend.

York Rise is such a special nurturing place. Both my children loved it and I have even more respect second time around and post Covid, the staff have gone above and beyond to make us feel safe and supported. They are completely wonderful, the activities always creative and the outside space is lots of fun.

This is one of the best nurseries in the world and the staff especially Becca (manager) are most reliable, kind, clever and creative people I have met. We had to leave after 1 year as we relocated too far and my 2 yr old/now 3 still calls becca his best friend and wants her as his teacher. She taught him not only all the clever things in the world but also engaged him in several activities that he still speaks about and leaves me astounded; from fairy dancing, to zoolab day to fancy dress to Christmas excitements and presents from Santa..I have never seen someone so considerate about each child

I can not rate York Rise enough.
Both my children went to the nursery and loved it.
The staff were fantastic at understanding each childs personal needs and helping them to achieve the best that they could be. Always something fun to do on daily basis and the wonderful art teacher Flo is amazing with the children..
I truly believe children thrive in this environment and as a working mum I always said goodbye to my girls as they ran in feeling they were being loved and looked after really well by kind, prosfessinal people.
I just asked my girls what they liked about it and they said" the xmas
