Children need a mixture of adult-led and child-motivated learning. We believe in teaching children how to do activities by themselves. Independence and choice making, are important skills to develop and master. Teaching children how to make choices and how to select an activity, requires consistency from the educational team. We allow children to practice and repeat tasks, which gives the children a sense of accomplishment and improves their self-confidence.
Services
Les Petites Etoiles Montessori West Hampstead welcomes children between the ages of 6 months and 4 years old (until Reception). Our educational and care program will follow and adhere to both the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and the Montessori approach and philosophy. Les Petites Etoiles West Hampstead is a French and English bilingual nursery school.
We are open 47 weeks a year. Children are welcome to arrive at any time between 8 am and 9 am. The school day begins at 9 am. During the day the children will have access to the garden. We will serve a morning snack, lunch and an afternoon tea at 4.10 pm. Parents can collect their children at 4 o'clock just before tea or at any time between 4.30 pm and 6 pm.

It’s a business, which puts shareholders before the interests of children and parents. The nursery has a very rigid rules. Our son was put un a wrong age group, where other children were half or one-third of his age. It’s a huge difference at this stage of development. When deciding on a nursery we were assured that there would be children of his age, which was a misrepresentation. Also they have very inflexible settling in process which doesn’t address the needs of individual children. We were allowed only one session with a parent present. As the result our son was subjected to huge stress

Our daughter attended LPE for a year just after she turned one year old.
She would run through the door and jump in to the staff’s arms each day, and talk about the children and staff whenever at home.
We were really impressed with the healthy / delicious food they served, and she seemed to be much more adventurous in new tastes at LPE than at home!
Her language blossomed in both French and English, and she would come home with new songs in each language.

My now toddler has been attending Les Petites Etoiles since it opened in September 2019 when he was just over a year old. He loves it, and we have been very very happy with the quality of care and attention that he receives whilst being there. We like the fact that it is bilingual, even though we aren't, I honestly believe that he has really flourished under their care.

Our baby started in September and really enjoy his nursery and all the new friends ! The staff is great , professional , attentive and very friendly ! Our older child goes to the one in Tufnell Park ! Happy with Both. Recommend especially for bilingual family or family who wants to offer their children another language.
