Mixed Feelings. Some things very good others not so. Lovely room. Spotlessly clean. Nice friendly staff. Excellent breakfast. The bad things, had pre-booked dinner but there was no table available. The restaurant is just a pub bar and mostly burgers etc. There is a proper (limited) restaurant menu but it was slightly disappointing. Overall good value for money and if you like pub grub this is the perfect place.

Went in for a meal on the 30th of December. Service was really fast and polite, seating us quickly and asking us if we were ready to order. Our meals were out really quickly and they were 100% spot on! We would definitely recommend the fish and chips or pie 😍 payed all contactless and on our way, all done and dusted with efficiency and politeness 💜

A beautiful setting for a beautiful building. Perfect location for travelling. We stayed for 3 nights, bed and breakfast and evening meal. The rooms where modern but traditional, cosy and clean. The food was was great, home cooked and big portions. The staff were all friendly and chatty, especially Sarah and Cindy at breakfast.
Would definitely recommend and would definitely stay again.

We are visiting the lake district and needed a pit stop. This is a lovely place to do just that. My partner had a burger which was superb and I had the fish. This was the best fish I have ever had! The chips were chunky and plenty of...wasn't sure if I could finish it but I did. The fish. Fresh and thank you to the chef and the lovely friendly staff also. Highly recommend. If you are a dog lover...dogs are welcome! Great place.

We sat outside for a few drinks and the atmosphere and the setting of the place were both great. No need to go to the bar, you order (and pay) on their website and the staff bring the order out for you. Outdoor area was really nice. Food looked and smelled good although we didn't eat there ourselves. Drinks prices were ok, a little higher than I was expecting but maybe I'm just out of touch. I'll go again.

This was a stop over lunch for my friend and I. We sat outside to have a really nice dish and enjoy a very refreshing drink in the heatwave. It was a great location, right on the high street with the hustle and bustle of the town, as we come from London, so we like it to be busy. The staff were very nice, polite and attentive despite being very busy lunch time. The food was delicious and we really enjoyed every bite. I would totally recommend this pub to everyone passing by. But if it is too busy I am sure the nearby ones are just as great.
