I used to be the kid at school who was always picked last for any team sports, so it's as surprising to me as it is to you that I should end up in the health and wellness industry! However, as I am not a team sport person, I found myself drawn towards what was then "popmobility" which I suppose was the pre-curser to aerobics.
Ashtanga Yoga is a dynamic and physically demanding style of Hatha yoga where movement is synchronised with the breath and a set series of postures are linked in a constant flow. This creates a detoxifying heat (be prepared to sweat!) and has the effect of stilling the mind and creating a feeling of calm focus.
Instead of looking at the Mantra as a literal translation of the Sanskrit, I see it as an invocation and a living part of our yoga practice. The Ashtanga Mantra has been translated a number of times and the following translation by John Berlinsky from California, I have found to be the most useful when trying to understand the mantras true meaning.

Yogahiit Fitness Yoga is a fusion of cardio, high intensity interval training, pilates and yoga. It will work your body enhancing spinal alignment and posture, helping you become more toned, sculpted and flexible.
The best way to get to this pose is to start in downward facing dog. From there, press forward so your shoulders are over your wrist joint. Make sure wrists are directly under the shoulders at a 90 degree angle. The body should be in one line from the top of your head to your heels. Do not dip or raise your hips.
