Very quant pub. Friendly staff. The food was excellent. And lots of it. My wife had the trio of lamb chops. The plate was stacked. First time in ages she literally cleared her plate. I had the steak pie. It was crammed full of meat. The pastry did not collapse on itself when the fork was put in.. Pricier than other places we've been in. But the quality was top. Finding out where they get the meat from, we understand why. The same butchers Gordon Ramsey has his meat from. Better than a few restaurants we've been in. Thoroughly recommend this pub to anyone.

Visited this lovely pub on our last evening while on holiday nearby but wish it was the first evening, the pub has a great atmosphere with loads of decorations around and ran by very friendly people! The food was amazing with huge portions to fill you up more than enough, the burgers we had where nice succulent fresh tasting burgers with excellent salad and a very generous portion of chips with prices you can't beat, very highly recommend going to this pub

Lovely local pub with an amazing atmosphere full of history! Food was made with love and portions were super generous. Medium rare steak cooked to perfection! Julie was an absolute sweetheart - so attentive and kind. Bar man was great too with the local ale suggestions! The place is full of stories, it was a wonderful stop for food. Would definitely recommend!!

Love this pub.. it dates from the 16th century..it has various cute and cosy rooms with wooden beams and a few fire places dotted here n there. Nice friendly service and a vast array of pub grub to choose from. They have specials of the day and the choices are quite adventurous. They are known for their Sunday roast dinners... I have tried them and they are fantastic. This time we ordered ham egg and chips...which hit the spot. And also the scampi, chips and peas, also good.
Lots of memorabilia dotted all over the pub, Brass items, clocks etc etc...
