Visited it 2 nights in a row and had a great experience on both occasions. First night we all had pizzas, which were lovely and especially if you have a love of cheese. The second night we went for burger, which were also great. Special mention for the hot curry they offer, which was incredible.

Last night was the sixth time we have had a meal here and yet again, it didn’t disappoint!! The cuisine was exquisite, the staff are friendly and welcoming and all in all a very enjoyable experience. The Tally Ho is by far our favourite place to eat. Highly recommended.

Great Sunday lunch
Finding ourselves in Hatherleigh at Sunday lunchtime we decided (on a local recommendation) to revisit The Tally Ho!
We hadn’t been in post COVID times but it was a real treat.
Being vegetarians we ordered the cauliflower cheese which we thought would be just that but it came with all of the usual - roast potatoes, veggie suet, stuffing, really fresh veg and vegetarian gravy - they checked with us to establish if we were vegetarians or had just ordered the cauliflower.
We had large portions and were told we wouldn’t need anything in the evening and that was true. In fact

Traditional pub with a warm ambience and exquisite food served by extremely friendly staff. The staff will go that extra mile to ensure that your visit is memorable. Since moving to Devon, the Tally Ho has become our favourite eating place. Highly recommended.

Our first night in Devon and we were recommended this pub by our air BnB host, it's a small pub in a small town but my goodness is it a little diamond in the rough! You walk though the doors into a traditional country pub style place, warm, inviting, the sound of merriment and conversation throughout, bought a sense of comfort and levity to the current pandemic restricted 'new normal' experience of eating out.
We ordered drinks, a nice draft cider for me, and took a minute to peruse the menu, the barmaid was very friendly, happy to talk to us and discuss where to head for our afternoon tea today

Nice pub. Can be very busy at times. Food really good although the portions are huge so some dishes you might want to share. They did offer to box up the food we couldn't finish. Have been a few times and will be going back.
