Great Sunday lunch
Finding ourselves in Hatherleigh at Sunday lunchtime we decided (on a local recommendation) to revisit The Tally Ho!
We hadn’t been in post COVID times but it was a real treat.
Being vegetarians we ordered the cauliflower cheese which we thought would be just that but it came with all of the usual - roast potatoes, veggie suet, stuffing, really fresh veg and vegetarian gravy - they checked with us to establish if we were vegetarians or had just ordered the cauliflower.
We had large portions and were told we wouldn’t need anything in the evening and that was true. In fact

Our first night in Devon and we were recommended this pub by our air BnB host, it's a small pub in a small town but my goodness is it a little diamond in the rough! You walk though the doors into a traditional country pub style place, warm, inviting, the sound of merriment and conversation throughout, bought a sense of comfort and levity to the current pandemic restricted 'new normal' experience of eating out.
We ordered drinks, a nice draft cider for me, and took a minute to peruse the menu, the barmaid was very friendly, happy to talk to us and discuss where to head for our afternoon tea today
