Our charming Inn, Bunkhouse and Campsite makes the perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life - eat. drink. We are a traditional, historical Inn and the oldest of Princetown's buildings, completed in 1785 and retain many of the original features such as slate floors, wooden beams and granite walls and are ideally situated for walkers, hikers, geocaching and local attractions like HMS Dartmoor Prison Museum.
Relax in our comfortable Inn during the winter months in front of a roaring log burner in cosy and ambient surroundings or during the summer months on our fabulous beer garden with children's playground. The Plume of Feathers is the perfect place from which to explore the beauty of Dartmoor and the surrounding areas.

It's gone really downhill since we were last here. The curry was pitiful in size, and as for the chips, they were an overcooked, bland joke. We got around 3 peas per plate (I'm barely exaggerating) and the customer service was pathetic at best. No one cared, no one ever will care at this place, it's clear the staff have lost any passion they may have possibly had. I'm really disappointed and still hungry. Please avoid this place at all costs.

Love the food - The staff are polite and seem decent. Good play area for children and chilled vibes. Prices are fair for what you get.
The only negative i do have to point out is their track and trace is awful. They make you sign a hand written trace form which is basically a full list all on one sheet of paper containing everyone's personal details, left on the side as you walk in which is not just wrong but has been illegal for over 2 years.

Went for meal. Recommended by friend. Homely / friendly pub feel. Grub good. Problem is spoiled by general quality of the food I get in West Country. The important point is - intend going back there, as their pies are the big recommendation and looked good. "Jail Ale" was as good and well presented as this excellent beer can be. Place to be recommended.

We booked a table for 13.30, and diverted an hour out of our way to visit as we wanted to visit with our son (we've previously camped 11 years ago)
On arrival the pub was extremely busy with little or no social distancing although there was an attempt at a one way system!
We were pointed towards a room at the back, noone told us how the ordering was working except a paper sign saying "service at bar".
Once settled my husband went to the bar and asked for a menu and was very abruptly told " there all out", no apology, no come back in 5 minutes or we'll get you one.
20 minutes later still no

This place is amazing. Staff so friendly down to earth and helpful and the food is proper English pub food done well (the pies are some if not the the best I’ve ever had)! Would go every weekend if it wasn’t so far from where I live. Would definitely recommend. Beautiful location aswell being right on Dartmoor for a drive/walk/day trip.

Lovely quiet dog friendly place with minimal facilities to give it the rustic appeal. Circular moorland walks straight from the campsite and a visitors centre to give advise and maps for other walks. The pub food is among the best you'll ever have! The breakfast is so good as well! Make sure you check out the specials wall to see some of the other selections, the menu is smallish but the specials board changes all the time to give amazing variety which is all very fresh. We've been up for food without camping as well because it's so good but if you have time to camp for a bit as well you'll have

Only had a quick lunch stop but really nice pub with great choice of local ales. We had the soup which was homemade and tasty and the sandwich was a lovely thick wedge of bread with plentiful filling and a good salad and crisps to accompany it. Will definitely go again when in the area and have a bigger appetite fo a full meal.
