A big shout out to the 60 reception children who have joined us this week. They have come into their newly decorated classrooms without any fuss; the transition has gone amazingly well. Once again, credit to their parents for carefully preparing them for school life, all that preparation has paid off.

I would also like to extend a welcome to the other pupils that have joined our school at the beginning of this term, they have also settled very well and have quickly adapted to the school routines. I am hoping that the school year 2021/22 will be much easier than the last 2 academic years, and the words that spring to mind as I write this note, 'Things can only get better!' Fingers crossed that is true.
Services
Parents should wait in Crawcrook Park until the children are greeted at the gate by their class teacher. The double gates will be opened at 8.50am so that one parent can enter the school ground with their child. An area on the grass, close to the fence, will be coned and this is where we would like parents to stand.
The school provides places for children aged 2-11. The Nursery Unit has provision in a morning and an afternoon for up to 39 children. The school offers the extended 30-hour entitlement from 9am to 3pm, Monday to Friday, for eligible families, as well as places for children eligible for the 2-year-old funding.
It is our aim at Emmaville Primary to provide the opportunity for our children to safely experience a range of sporting activities for their fun and enjoyment. Through carefully planned PE and sports activities we aim to ensure that all children are happy an enjoy PE, thus raising participation levels both in and out of school and therefore in turn, promoting healthy lifestyles.
This term we have worked together to arrange parts for Happy Birthday and You Raise Me Up. Most recently, we composed an original piece, inspired by a snowy day. Bobby shared his made up section and said It is called Ice Spear. When you walk outside and the cold is like an icy spear going through your heart, melting all the happiness and joy in your soul.
