Get up and Go! is an Ofsted registered out of school club, based in the annex at High Spen Primary School. We are open from 7.45 in the morning and until 6.00 after school. Whilst this website houses the statutory DFE information, Parents and Carers are encouraged to join our private Facebook group.
The FB group is used to share more detailed information and allows you to message us. To find us search for 'High Spen Primary School' in FB and answer the necessary security questions. The children, staff and parents of High Spen Primary School would like to welcome you to our website. Existing parents and carers: don't worry we are changing nothing!

The children, staff and parents of High Spen Primary School would like to welcome you to our website. We are a friendly and supportive school whose staff and children will always be ready with a smile. We update this website regularly through the embedded Twitter feed so please keep checking it.
If you are looking at our website with a view to joining us you may be interested in our agreed aims (see below) I would urge you to pick up the phone and arrange an appointment to see us in the flesh though as it is only by stepping through the doors that you can really appreciate what a special place this is.Please don't expect to meet this fresh faced young man on the left though - it is an old photo and much as I LOVE the job. it has aged me!

We encourage our children to be creative, unique, open-minded and independent individuals, respectful of themselves and of others in our school, our local community and the wider world. We aim to nurture our children on their journey through life so they can grow into safe, caring, demo-cratic, responsible and tolerant adults who make a positive difference to British Society and to the world.
Measures changed in 2016 and whilst our KS2 results demonstrated some excellent individual progress, the collective attainment fell short of our historical pattern of achievement. Our Y6 children showed fantastic attitude in the face of real challenge and we were proud of them all. In 2017 and 2018 we were equally proud of the individual progress and attainment of our children.
As well as the traditional prospectus below, we have tried to capture the ethos of our school for those unable to visit in person. Please read 'Welcome to High Spen Primary School' and let us know what you think. Here are the key policies we are required to publish on our school website. Should you wish to consult a school policy not currently published online please contact us and we will be pleased to assist you.
As with many schools, the Pupil Premium Pot at High Spen is a key tool in raising standards for specific groups of children. Funding is given to target specific pupils who live with families meeting nationally agreed criteria. Over the past five years the proportion of pupils in our school receiving Pupil Premium Grant (PPG) has grown steadily.
