We aim to promote the 7 learning values to all Fellside children to teach them the importance of investing in learning to learn. These values underpin both our curriculum and our ethos and they are central to the tenets of daily life at our school. Using imagination; pushing boundaries; suggesting new ideas and being resourceful - all part of daily life at Fellside.

Learning from mistakes and sometimes finding things difficult is all part of being a learner. Situated in the heart of Whickham, Fellside is very much a community school; here to serve families in the locality and to provide an outstanding education for children.
Services
In 2018/19 the DfE allocated 1,320 per eligible primary aged learners eligible for free school meals; 2300 for 'looked after' children (i.e. in care) or children adopted from care; and 300 for children from armed services families or those in receipt of a child pension from the Ministry of Defence.
It is our vision that all of our children will leave Fellside physically literate and with the knowledge, skills and motivation necessary to equip them for a healthy lifestyle and lifelong participation in physical activity and sport.

This strategy aims to engage all children in high quality physical education, physical activity and school sports as part of their school life and kick start healthy active lifestyles for children and families within the school community.PE and sport have an important role to play in raising standards and narrowing the achievement gap.
If you need further information about the curriculum at Fellside please contact us and we'll be pleased to assist you. The National Curriculum consists of three core subjects (English, Mathematics and Science) and seven non-core foundation subjects (Computing, Design & Technology, History, Geography, Art & Design, Music and Physical Education).
The overarching aim for English in our curriculum is to promote high standards of language and literacy by equipping pupils with a strong command of the spoken and written word, and to develop their love of literature through widespread reading for enjoyment. Writing (across a wide-range of genres and for a range of different purposes and audiences).
